5 photo worthy sights in Corfu
New month, new flashback. This time I’m taking you to the Greek island of Corfu. Just like sister island Zakynthos, Corfu is all about lush green landscapes and pristine blue waters! Being the largest Ionic island, its coastline offers plenty of idyllic bays and long sandy beaches. Combine that with lots of historic sights, fresh Greek food, classy hotspots and a vibrant nightlife and you’ve found your perfect holiday destination.

Paleokastritsa
A scenic drive takes you to the most famous beach of Corfu: Paleokastrista! In fact, Paleokastrista consists of several little beaches right next to each other. If you stay in Corfu for a week, you could go to Paleokastrista every day and still have a different scenery. That’s a whole lot of photo options!
Every beach at Paleokastrista has their own charm and characteristics. I went to Agios Spyridon, an idyllic bay overlooking the cliffs. This beach has all the facilities for a perfect beach day and I had so much fun renting a pedal boat.
Logas Beach
I spent my 23rd birthday at Logas beach and I could not have wished for a better place to do so. The first thing you’ll see when you get there is a beach bar overlooking the sea. I went there for the view and I was amazed by what I saw. The white cliffs contrasting against the azure blue sea, it was simply breathtaking.
The way down to the beach is quite steep, but once I was there I enjoyed a fantastic swim in one of the most azure waters ever. It was a feeling of utter bliss!
Canal d’Amour
Coastal town Sidari has many beaches to choose from, but Canal d’Amour is the most captivating one for sure. The rock formation in the sea is as mythical as it is photogenic. The legend of Canal d’Amour goes that when one swims through the rock he or she will find true love. Now that explains the name!
Old Town Kerkyra
In Greek language, Corfu is called Kerkyra and so is its main town. The architecture of this city is unique in Greece and it is a lovely place to walk around. Exploring the quaint, cream hued streets of Kerkyra means smelling fresh food everywhere while you’re buying souvenirs from authentic Greek stores.
When it comes to sightseeing, you won’t be bored either. The fortress is one of the most eye-catching sights of Kerkyra, giving it a status of UNESCO World Heritage site.
Vlacherna and the Mouse Island
If every place has a special landmark, then this is the symbol of Corfu. Located at the edge of Kerkyra in Kanoni, you must climb a hill first to get here. As soon as you make it, the view over the monastery and the island is a delight for your camera.
You can reach the white monastery of Vlacherna through a narrow passage where several fishing boats are docked. These boats will take you to the Mouse island in just minutes and cost only a few euros.
The real name of the island is Pontikonissi, but it was nicknamed Mouse island due to its small size. The only thing to see on Mouse island is a tiny church however, it’s still an interesting place to visit due to its role in Greek mythology.
